Who was Lady Jane Grey?
Lady Jane Grey (born 1537) was an English noblewoman, said to be the most educated woman in England. When Jane was sixteen, she entered into an arranged marriage with seventeen-year-old Lord Guilford Dudley. She was a strong supporter of the reformed Church of England, started by her great-uncle Henry VIII and solidified by her first cousin once removed, Edward VI. Famous reformer John Calvin said this of Jane; “a lady whose example is worthy of everlasting remembrance.”
